The Marine Information Management System (MIMS) is an open repository that archives and publishes collections and subsets of marine related datasets for the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment: Oceans and Coastal Research (DFFE:OCR), South Africa. It hosts the Southern African Data Centre for Oceanography (SADCO) historical data archives.
MIMS is the South African node for ocean data identified by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO. As an IOC/IODE Accredited Data Unit, it is bounded to international standards of best practice.
